Get ready for Thanksgiving Day with an excellent Thanksgiving Morning Breakfast Shake for breakfast. You will probably already have the ingredients on hand. Be sure to set aside a heaping cup of fresh or frozen cranberries before making cranberry sauce.
Sweet and sour blend perfectly in this lively, deliciously smooth shake. It’s like a party in your mouth. If you don’t like it too sweet, omit or reduce the maple syrup, it will still be sweet. However, the maple flavor adds a nice warmth to the blend.
Thanksgiving Morning Breakfast Shake
16 oz. green tea, including leaves*
1 Tbsp chia seeds
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 banana
2 cups spinach
1 cup cranberries
Add ingredients in the order listed, then blend in high powered blender. With a regular kitchen blender, add tea, syrup, banana and spinach and blend until smooth. Add cranberries and blend again until smooth.
*Cut open a tea bag. Pour loose tea leaves into a quart jar. Pour boiling water over the tea and let steep for 10 minutes. Use warm or refrigerate. There is evidence suggesting that taking the entire tea leaf is a little bit more effective than drinking the tea without the leaves retained.
